The best vegan french toast made using sourdough bread and topped with toasted slivered almonds.

2tbsp ground flax meal
1cup almond milkor plant milk of choice
2tbsp maple syrup
6-8slices sourdough bread
toasted slivered almonds
Whisk together the flax meal, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in a shallow bowl. Cover and chill for 10 minutes.
Prepare a skillet with non-stick spray and turn on medium-low heat. Take a slice of bread and submerge it in the mixture, let the excess drip off and then place into the hot skillet. Cook each side of the bread for 2-3 mintues or until golden brown. Repeat until you have used all the bread and mixture.
Serve french toast with toasted slivered almonds, maple syrup and powdered sugar. ENJOY!
