Healthy Red Velvet Hot Chocolate. A delicious, low carb, high protein treat.
Notes
*If you are using a vegan protein, you will want to add more stevia as vegan powders tend to be less sweet.
**For beet puree: Wash beats and roast them for 1 hour at 400F. Let cool and remove skins. Place in a food processor or blender until pureed.
Ingredients
- 1 c unsweetened almond milk
- 32g chocolate protein powder PEScience 30% OFF code PBCHOCO
- 1/4 c roasted beet puree
- 1 1/2 tbsp unsweetened cocao powder
- stevia to taste
- pinch sea salt
- cocao nibs for sprinkles
- marshmallows if desired
Instructions
- Place the beet puree, almond milk, protein, cocao powder, salt and stevia into a blend and blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a small pot over low-medium heat. Remove from heat just before the hot chocolate begins to boil. Pour into a serving glass and top with cocao nibs and marshmallows if desired. Enjoy!
