If you are looking for a simple snack that’s no bake and healthy, look no further because these gluten-free brownie energy bites are made using just 5 ingredients: dates, protein powder, cocao powder, peanuts and maple syrup! Throw them into a food processor, blend and roll!

Can you believe these no bake energy bites are not only healthy but gluten-free and vegan as well? I know I can’t either! They taste like a magical brownie dessert rolled up into one perfect on-the-go snack!

These no bake energy bites are easily adaptable. Don’t have peanuts? You can easily substitute them for almonds, cashews or hazelnuts! Maple syrup not your jam? Try using honey, agave or brown rice syrup.

The possibilities are endless–and so are the toppings. You can roll them in cocao powder, crushed nuts, almond meal, hemp seeds, coconut, freeze dried berry powder or whatever your heart desires! As you can see from the photos, I rolled mine in almond flour, crushed hazelnuts and unsweetened cocao powder. I like options when it comes to my snacking.

  • 12 medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 tbsp cocao powder
  • 32g chocolate protein, use plant based for vegan PEScience 30% off code PBCHOCO
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 c raw peanuts, use almonds for paleo
    Toppings for rolling (optional)
  • cocao powder
  • crushed nuts
  • almond flour
  • hemp seeds
  • shredded coconut


  • Place all energy bite ingredients into a food processor and blend until ingredients start to form a ball. Consistency should be moldable like dough.
  • Separate the dough into 12 evenly sized balls. Roll in toppings if desired.
  • ENJOY!


Maple syrup can be substituted for brown rice syrup, honey or agave. Peanuts can be substituted for any nut.
