Yes, another banana bread recipe. I don’t know about you but I can never pass up an opportunity to make banana bread when my bananas start to get overly ripe. I always tell myself I’m going to make something else (and maybe one day I will) but not this time. This time I made a ¬†banana bread flavor I haven’t had in a long time–chocolate! This isn’t just any chocolate banana bread recipe, this banana recipe has double the chocolate in it and is topped with a rich dark chocolate frosting.

Healthy Double Chocolate Banana Bread with Two-Ingredient Chocolate Frosting Made Gluten-Free, Refined Sugar-Free.


  • 3 bananas, ripe
  • 3 eggs, large
  • 1 c gluten-free oat flour
  • 32g chocolate protein PEScience 30% code PBCHOCO
  • 1/4 c unsweetened cocao powder
  • 1/4 c coconut sugar or granulated erythritol
  • 1/4 c unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 c chopped sugar-free dark chocolate, melted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • pinch sea salt
  • 1 sugar-free chocolate bar, chopped (about 100g)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tbsp cocao nibs


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and prepare two small loaf pans or 1 large with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a mixer, beat the eggs, bananas and milk until fluffy (about 20 seconds). Add in the melted chocolate and continue mixing until incorporated. Add in the remaining dry ingredients and mix until combined. Distribute the batter between the two loaf pans and bake for 35-40 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, melt the chocolate for the frosting. Once melted, stir in the almond milk until smooth. Frost the loaves and top with cocao nibs.
