Yes, I am talking about Starbucks’ Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, the most recent addition to the Starbucks menu. Today, I’ll show you how to make the perfect iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso at home.
Trust me. It’s not as hard as it seems.
What you need to make an iced brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso
- Espresso – you can use espresso from an espresso machine if you have it or instant espresso (if using instant, make sure it’s made with hot water)
- Brown Sugar Syrup – add brown sugar and water to a small pot over medium high heat for 1 minute and the sugar melts
- Dash of cinnamon
- Ice
- Oatmilk
- Mason jar with a lid or shaker
Once you have your brown sugar syrup and espresso ready, next comes the fun part – shaking! Add ice into the shaker or jar and top with the espresso, brown sugar syrup and dash of cinnamon, seal the lid tightly, and shake it vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
The key is to create that frothy, creamy texture the Starbucks barista creates by shaking the drink. Once you are satisfied with the texture, pour the drink into a tall glass, add a few extra ice cubes (they may melt a bit from the hot espresso) and top with oat milk.
If you want to take your iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso to the next level, add some caramel drizzle on top.
And voila! Your Starbucks-worthy Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is ready!
Making a delicious Iced Brown Sugar OatMilk Shaken Espresso at home is possible. Follow the simple steps of brewing espresso, adding brown sugar syrup, ice, and cinnamon and shaking the drink vigorously.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with the amount of syrup and milk you add, and you can also substitute oat milk with any other plant-based milk you love. Enjoy!
