I have a confession to make. I don’t understand yeast and by that I mean, I am terrible at using it. Yes, I understand how it works but what I don’t understand is how it doesn’t work for me…
It just never works out for me so I avoid it.
I am resourceful and can find ways to live without it.
So I searched the interwebs for a cinnamon roll recipe that doesn’t require…*shudders* yeast.
Turns out you don’t need it if you have SELF RISING FLOUR! AKA The greatest invention ever!
What you need to make these easy cinnamon rolls
Simple and delicious! These vegan cinnamon rolls are made using minimal ingredient, without yeast and under 1 hour from start to devour! I like to keep it simple for you guys so there will be no rising required for these sweet rolls.
- self rising flour
- vegan butter
- sugar
- brown sugar
- vanilla extract
- powdered sugar
- cinnamon
- almond milk
That’s it! Fluffy cinnamon rolls without yeast! BEST THING EVER!

No Yeast Vegan Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients
cinnamon rolls
- 2½ cup self rising flour + more for dusting organic if possible
- 2 tbsp organic cane sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegan butter melted
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
filling
- 2 tbsp vegan butter melted
- ¼ cup organic brown sugar packed
- ½ tbsp cinnamon
glaze
- ¾ cup organic powdered sugar sifted
- 1½ tbsp almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F° and prepare a baking dish with parchment paper or non-stick spray. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt and sweetener. In another bowl, stir together the melted butter, almond milk and vanilla.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry and use a rubber spatula to stir until a dough forms. Transfer the dough to a clean floured surface, dust with more flour and knead (adding flour as needed) until dough is smooth, about 10 times.Dust a rolling pin with flour and roll dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch in thickness.
- In a bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon for the filling. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mix. Roll dough up (lengthwise) and cut into 12 even pieces. Transfer to the baking dish, brush with melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until edges puff and are golden brown.
- Whisk together the glaze ingredients and drizzle over rolls.
